DESCRIPTION:Invasive Plant Removal at Kessler Mountain Regional Park \nWhere: Kessler Mountain Regional Park\, “Saddle Up” trail\, across from the large soccer field and parking lot. \nDetails: The Alliance is partnering with the City of Fayetteville Parks & Recreation Department to remove invasive bush honeysuckle from Kessler Mountain Regional Park’s Saddle Up trail. Volunteers will be taught how to identify this highly invasive understory shrub and methods to remove it\, as well as tips on replacing it with native species. \nWhat is provided: Gloves\, tools\, water\, snacks\, and hands-on identification and removal tips for common urban invasive plant species in Northwest Arkansas. \nWhat to bring/wear: We’ll be cutting and hauling brush\, so dress in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Long-sleeve shirts and pants are recommended. \nDirections: Sign-in will be at the Saddle Up trailhead across the parking lot by the soccer fields. If coming from Fayetteville\, take Razorback Road south until Razorback turns into Cato Springs Rd.\, follow Cato Springs Rd. and turn right onto Judge Cummings Rd (WC-200)\, follow into Kessler Mountain Regional Park and park in either the first or second parking lot. Sign-in will be across from second parking lot across from the large soccer fields. If coming from I-49\, take exit 60 and turn south onto Cato Springs Rd.
