Farm & Field Workshop: Productive Land Management, Soil Health, & Drought Assistance
Productive farms and fields rely on soil and water health and can generate increased incomes through cost savings and cost-share programs. Attend this workshop to learn more.
Participants will learn about and have the opportunity to sign up for the National Water Quality Initiative (NWQI) program – a dedicated funding program for producers and forested landowners in Washington and Madison County. Participants will also learn about drought assistance funding from Farm Service Agent, Ted Collins, and how to measure pasture forage with UAEX agent Ronnie Horn. NRCS Grazing Land Specialist, Jeremy Huff, will demonstrate the importance of soil health and pasture management with the rainfall simulator. This is a FREE program, and lunch will be provided.
