Our friends at the Illinois Watershed Partnership are hosting a Landscaping with Native Plants Workshop as part of new Conservation Training Program.
Interested in learning about the program? Read more and sign up to participate here!
This day-long workshop will include lectures and exercises teaching you how to design with and care for native plants. To put these principles into practice, we’ll finish the day by planting a new stormwater bioretention feature at the Jones Community for Nonprofits.
This workshop is FREE to attend and lunch is included!
This workshop will be taught by IRWP’s own Annie Sales and Kate Shirley.
Here’s a sample of what you’ll learn:
How to assess a project site’s conditions for planting
How to select an appropriate palette of plants and draw a planting plan
How to lead installation and care of managed landscapes with native plants
How to advocate for ecological practices within the landscape and construction trade
