Streambank Protection and Stabilization

This project aimed to enhance the habitat and reduce sediment loadings of stream banks in order to sustain the region’s fisheries. The Commission plans to modify the stream channels in order to restore them to their natural state through the development of a restoration plan specific to each site. The three project sites will be used for public awareness and education to promote natural channel design to area landowners. The long-term effect of this project will be to reduce the sediment input and improve water quality downstream from the specific sites. This project was completed in 2008.
